Where is GroVont? And other curiosities about the blog.

Who are you? What are you blogging about?

This blog does not have any real purpose. I am a girl in my late twenties, and I write about things that I'm interested in: music, books, current events, etc. Nothing is off limits. Since I currently live in San Francisco, several topics tend to focus on the Bay Area.

Who is Daisy?

Daisy is what I affectionately call my car, a Toyota Prius. Yes, I personified my car. I consider it slightly unhealthy, but not enough to stop.

You can see Daisy's stats on Fuelly. Daisy appears as herself in many pictures.

Where is GroVont? Did you forget to bring a map?

GroVont, Wyoming, is a fictional town featured in a trilogy of books by Tim Sandlin. I highly recommend all books by Sandlin, especially Skipped Parts and Sorrow Floats.

When I left university, I was lost. I choose to take off in my 1989 Skylark and drive around the US without any clear destination. I ended up in Jackson Hole which is the area of Wyoming where Sandlin's books are set. I was immediately captivated by the beauty of the Tetons and ended up staying in the area for nearly a year.

What pays the rent?

Currently, I work for Six Apart doing online customer support for TypePad. Instead of a cubicle, I work from the comfort of my apartment, a nearby cafe, or anywhere with internet access.

What type of music do you listen to?

Indie rock, alt-country, the Pixies, Arcade Fire, Art Tatum, the Velvet Teen, Appleseed Cast, and much more. Last.fm has information on what I'm listening to right now.
